Chalk Draw is an online chalkboard — a blackboard in your browser. It opens instantly, costs nothing, shows no ads and never asks you to sign up. Teachers use it to explain things on a projector or smartboard; students and children use it to draw, practise handwriting and work through problems.
What you can do
- Write in real chalk. Every stroke is drawn with chalk grain and responds to speed and stylus pressure, so it behaves like a board rather than a marker.
- Start from a template. Graph axes, a number line, handwriting rows, a music staff, a Venn diagram, a timeline, a calendar, a clock face, Cornell notes or a poster frame — drawn in chalk, so you can erase any part of them.
- Draw shapes. Straight lines, rectangles, ellipses and arrows. Hold Shift to keep them square, circular or at a clean angle.
- Add text in chalk handwriting or a clean sans, for titles and labels.
- Point without drawing. Hold Space for a laser pointer that fades on its own — ideal while presenting.
- Use as many pages as you need, with thumbnails you can reorder and duplicate.
- Turn on guides — a grid, ruled lines or dots — for graphs, handwriting practice and neat layouts.
- Choose your board. Slate, forest green, midnight blue, or a light paper surface when you want a whiteboard instead.
- Present full screen and hide the toolbar so only the board is visible.
- Export a page as a PNG, or copy it straight into slides, a worksheet or a chat.
Chalkboard or blackboard?
They are the same object. “Blackboard” is the older name and still the usual one in British English; “chalkboard” became common once boards stopped being black. Chalk Draw works as either — pick the slate surface for a classic black board, or forest green for the one most schools actually have.
Where your work is kept
Everything is stored inside your own browser on your own device. There is no server, no account and no upload, which is why it is fast and why it keeps working with no internet connection. Clearing your browser data, or using private browsing, removes saved pages — download the pages you want to keep.
Questions

- Yes. No ads, no account, no limits.
- Will my pages still be here tomorrow?

- Does it work on a smartboard or tablet?

- How do I make a chalkboard poster or sign?
- Open Templates, choose Poster, write inside the frame and use Download PNG.
